Hewescraft Fishing Boats Have Stood the Test of Time

Hewescraft Fishing Boats Have Stood the Test of Time

Hewescraft was born just after the Second World War when four veterans with a simple and amiable desire set out to build their own fishing boats. Eventually, three of the men built their vessels and lost interest in helping the fourth man. That fourth man was Bob Hewes. Unswayed in his vision, Bob Hewes recruited the help of his younger brother Ralph and Hewescraft was born.

59 years later, Hewescraft is still a family business, run by the second generation: Bob II and Dave Hewes and they have carved a niche for building affordable and downright functional fishing boats for the family angler. Hewescraft's sport fishing boats are so rugged, they're the number one selling boat in Alaska; a state that takes its fishing, and its fishing gear very seriously. Like Alaskans, we know there are Alberta boat shoppers out there who share the desire for functional and well-laid-out fishing boats too. That's why we're a proud Hewescraft dealer.

Durable, Affordable and Built with Fishermen in Mind

In a Hewescraft fishing boat, you will find heavy gauge welded aluminum construction, wide open deck spaces, high sides, walk-through windshields and layouts that'll make your fishing even more enjoyable! You'll get all of that while paying well under what many comparable brands can and do charge. Hewescraft also stands behind its product with a lifetime hull warranty on the welds to the original owner, and a non-commercial transferable warranty to the second owner for 10 years!

Lake & Fresh Water River Boat Models

Hewescraft builds its various models in different sizes to accommodate the needs and price points of boat shoppers. Hewescraft boats in this category range from 16 to 20 feet and are generally the most suitable for lakes & deeper rivers.

The Hewescraft Advantage

Hewescraft boats have honed their craft in over a half-century of boat building! The benefit of choosing an experienced manufacturer is that you can feel safe in putting your family in something that is tested and proven over great lengths of time. Below you'll find everything else that sets a Hewescraft apart from other boats you might encounter.

Hull Construction

Using an all-welded aluminum structure with thick channel supports and box beam construction, Hewescraft hulls last a lifetime! In fact, they're warrantied for life too. The original owner gets a lifetime no-leak hull warranty, and it's even transferable to a second owner for 10 years!

Fishability

Hewescraft boats are laid out so that you can focus on fighting fish and not the rest of your crew! In any Hewescraft you choose you'll enjoy wide open deck spaces, well-spaced seating, and easily accessible fish boxes on the transom, open bow and sometimes both!

Up Front Value & Resale Value

Like any purchase, you should assess the value of not only the initial purchase package but also how much of that you can expect to maintain. Our Hewescraft boats are not only aggressively priced from the beginning, but by virtue of their rock-solid build tend to maintain their value very well. While glass boats tend to have costly, or even terminal issues and riveted boats require repairs, the hull of a heavy welded aluminum boat like Hewescraft tends to hold its shape and strength.

Safety

The safety of you and your family is a top priority for Hewescraft. Their boats are built above and beyond Canadian & US coastguard standards. Hewescraft takes the extra step of installing recoverable flotation in all of its boats over 20' and flotation tests each and every hull that comes off the line. Hewescraft even goes so far as to swap each hull during their test to ensure that its flotation is up to the Hewescraft standard. Now that is something not every boat manufacturer can claim!

Big Water Proven

Hewescraft is the #1 selling boat in Alaska, and it is also one of the most popular throughout the Pacific Northwest. Because of the rough and often uncertain conditions in these areas, boat shoppers need to know they have a rig that can get them on the water and back safely. We're proud to say that after over 60 years, these people continue to choose Hewescraft as the vessel of choice to do that!

NO CARPET. Anywhere in The Boat

You won't find any carpet in a Hewescraft! You won't even really find absorbent fabrics. Hewescraft only uses marine-grade vinyl flooring and interior paint to finish off its boats so that they stay clean and are easy to maintain. Plus fabrics tend to take on moisture and smells eventually, which is also another downside.
